Of course my idols are not Indian Idols. Nothing to blame them, they too are achievers in their respective fields; but then there are a few people whom whom I look up to.

Individuals who have done things differently and are masters in their domain. They have been a inspiration to me every now and then. I'm sure this list shall grow as and when I get to know more of such individuals who belong to a different league.

In alphabetical order.....

APJ Abdul Kalam, President of India

Admire him for his 'Humbleness'. I was so touched when he personally replied to my message - mentioning he was glad to know about Pravs World. A true visionary who dreams for the society and for the nation.

Aamir Khan, Indian Actor

'Perfection' is the word. Conceptualizing a dream, and then executing it successfully as it was dreamt is what Aamir does the best. And I am all the more inspired by him after I saw Rang De Basanti.

Amitabh Bachhan, Indian Actor

'Standing up tall again in life'. I don't mean his height. No doubt he is one of the finest actors and the most charming personality. But my admiration for him is for the way he scaled new heights after the ABCL downfall. He still continues to soar high every day.

Azim Premji, Chairman, Wipro Technologies

He has the 'Vision'. Looked beyond his traditional business and ventured
into information technology; created Wipro Technologies - one of the largest
technology companies in the world.

Bill Gates, Chairman & Chief Software Architect, Microsoft

My Idol. My Inspiration. That says it all.

Herb Kelleher, Co-founder, Former CEO & President, Southwest Airlines

His 'Never Say Die' attitude. I admire him for the way he built Southwest Airlines.

Lee Iacocca, Former Chairman, Chrysler Corporation

Admire him for he way he has completely redefined the fate of Chrysler.

Mahatma Gandhi, Father of the Nation, India

The one thing that has touched me most is the simple quote by him - Be the change that you want to see. Truth, Truth and simply the Truth. He's the man of Truth. If only we could live one day in our life - bring true to others; and more importantly being true to ourselves, the world would be such a different place.

Michael Schumacher, Driver, Ferrari

Formula1 is my favorite sport, and Schumi is my favorite driver. Sheer speed is what comes to my mind when I think of Formula1. I wish they he teaches me to drive a Formula1 car on a F1 circuit, and in return I will teach Michael something much more difficult - driving through Mumbai roads.

Mother Teresa, Founder, Missionaries of Charity

Admire her for Selfless Service. If I have to site an example for someone's selfless commitment towards serving others, no other name will stand above Mother Teresa. I learn from her - how to have a strive for betterment of society, set aside personal concerns and devote one's life absolutely for the cause.

Narayana Murthy, Founder, Chairman & Chief Mentor, Infosys

From 'no one' to 'the one'. One of those transformational leaders who changed the way India is looked upon when it came to Software & Technology. Created India's most admired software company - Infosys.

Ratan Tata, Chairman, Tata Group

Simple and down to earth. Very rarely in news. The more I have read about Ratan Tata and the way Tata as a brand is going places in past few years, the more I admire him. I learn not just from him, but the entire Tata Group about staying ethical in business - which is why its one of the organizations I respect the most.

Richard Branson, Chairman, Virgin

Someone who has taught the world to do business in an unconventional way, explore ideas that no one thought would make any business sense - but he pulled them up and was successful too. I do not learn from him how to succeed in every venture, but how not to fail in anything you do.
